Sunday is Mother’s Day, and that means it’s time to think about what to give mom to show her you love and appreciate her. Maybe you have a brilliant idea of something you know she’ll love, or maybe you need a gift idea. Whether you are looking for something for your mom, or something to make with your kids for mom, here’s a list of homemade Mother’s Day gift ideas for kids and adults!
For a first Mother’s Day: If you’re celebrating a new mom this year, make her a custom gift basket or a “new mom survival guide.” Include a cute mug, some tea or coffee, lipstick/lipgloss, lotion, bubble bath, comfy slippers, a nice journal and pen, and anything else you think this new mom would love.
To help mom relax: Make bath bombs for mom to help her unwind after a stressful day of working and “momming.” Here’s a DIY recipe for floral bath bombs from Club Crafted.
You can also make your mom some body scrub, if she’s not into baths. Here’s a how to guide for a citrus and passion fruit scrub from A Pumpkin & A Princess.
For the world traveling mom: If your mom is always traveling, you can make her unique, personalized luggage tags. Lovely Indeed has a how to for creating polka dotted tags.
For moms with a green thumb: If the mom in your life loves to garden, you can make her some unique planters by decorating terra-cotta pots. Here is a tutorial from Shelterness for fabric wrapped pots. You can also paint the pots, either free hand or with stencils, to create just the look you know she’ll love.
Something for mom to cherish forever: This is a quick and easy one you can do with the kiddos. You can fold a piece of construction paper in half, trace their little hand, and cut it out. Then you have a folded, hand-shaped card the kids can decorate. Mom will be sure to treasure this card that shows the moment in time the little ones made it for her.
For moms who love their coffee mugs: If mom has a ton of mugs she loves and loves to show off, make her a coffee cup holder so she can hang them proudly. Here’s a guide from Made to be a Momma.
For the candle-collecting mom: Head to your local craft supply store and check out their candle making supplies. You can make your own candle in mom’s favorite colors or scents, even layering the colors or scents she loves the best.
For moms of little artists: Does your little one love drawing, painting or creating? Frame a couple of his or her masterpieces and wrap them up for mom!
