Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens: It’s one of the most popular places in the city, located in the Riverside district with three acres of historic gardens. In addition, you can see art collections, sculptures and architecture.
Memorial Park: Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this is a small park not far from downtown Jacksonville along the St. Johns River, with 6 acres of beautiful plants and history.
Tree Hill Nature Center: This non profit preserve features 50 acres of trails, including butterfly and hummingbird gardens. Learn about the environment and sustainability, as well as local wildlife.
Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens: With more than 125 acres of paths, pods and plants, the arboretum is a popular location for hiking and fresh air.
Kanapaha Botanical Gardens: Learn about many plants that are often not found in other gardens, like bamboo or the largest herb garden in the region. You can learn about ecology, natural selection and regional varieties.
Jacksonville Zoological Gardens: Combining animals and plants, learn about all that nature has to offer. The zoo has more than 2,000 animals and 1,000 species of plants, with a botanical garden for various regions the zoo offers.
